The past year has been record-breaking for us here at Signs.com. In both 2014 and 2015, we’ve been busy cranking out new products and expanding our team, and people have noticed.

Back in September, we came in at number 19 of the Top 25 Under 5, the Utah Venture Entrepreneur Forum’s list of the up-and-coming businesses across the valley. Then, this week Signs.com was recognized as a MountainWest Capital Network Emerging Elite company, a recognition given to the top 15 startup companies in all of Utah. With so many impressive companies here in the Salt Lake and Utah Valleys and beyond, being recognized for these two awards for our performance in 2014 is a huge honor. (more…)

Kirk Green Signs.comThis is a rare guest post from the co-founder of Signs.com, Kirk Green. Kirk is not so much a guest blogger as he is a reluctant blogger. Occasionally, he has observations that we think need wider distribution than his personal mumbling. So, we convinced him to write down a few of his ramblings and we might publish some of them here. Most of Kirk’s time is spent leading the teams at Ferrari Color, Signs.com and Stryde.

Pull up a seat for the Signs.com Happy Hour

Signs.com Happy Hour

Is there anything more American than the “Happy Hour”? Some believe the origins date back to the military. According to Wikipedia, it was a scheduled time during the day when sailors in the Navy could relax and take in some form of entertainment.

Here at Signs.com, we have decided to take the concept of the happy hour a step further. We aren’t just discounting signs, or offering 2 for 1 coupons. We are giving away signs for FREE. That’s right. For one hour, it’s first come, first serve. It may be a banner, it may be a window decal, it might be something we don’t even normally sell on our site! (more…)

Announcing the Signs.com Yard Sale Sign Spectacular

Yard Sale Sign Contest

Ah summertime. The season for cookouts, baseball, swimming, vacations, and of course yard sales. The yard sale sign has become somewhat comical in recent times. Most are handwritten on whatever scrap cardboard or poster board was left over from the kids latest science fair project. Legibility is, shall we say, less than optimal for cars passing by at varying rates of speed. In all, most yard sale signs are just pretty bad.

That’s where we come in! Here at Signs.com, we want your yard sale to be the event of the summer. Today, we are announcing our Yard Sale Sign Spectacular. Basically, we are giving 10 lucky individuals the chance to win 2 custom yard signs with wire stakes. Winners can pick one of the four designs below, then customize it to make it uniquely theirs! The Spotlight Shines on Vegas’ Neon Museum

Neon Museum

Born From Necessity

As I sat across from Danielle Kelly, the executive director of The Neon Museum, I almost forgot that we were discussing old, beat up, and sometimes forgotten signs. In fact, I felt that we could have been talking about a recently discovered Picasso or Van Gogh original. That’s how passionate Danielle is about her beloved museum and the works of art that she and her team painstakingly curates.

Founded in 1996, The Neon Museum is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and restoring iconic Las Vegas signage to display and educate future generations on the area’s unique art form. But, according to Danielle, the path to what visitors see today when they come to the Neon Museum is a far cry from where they started. (more…)

Announcing the Signs.com Gives Back Program

Signs.com Gives Back

Starting a business is hard. Starting a business in a poverty-stricken country is harder. At Signs.com, we are blessed to be located in a country that fosters startup ambitions, but for some entrepreneurs in the African country of Kenya, just selling enough product to put food on their family’s tables is a daily struggle.

Today, we are happy to announce the start of the Signs.com Gives Back program (read the full press release here). The Gives Back program was created to help the budding business owners in Kenya market and grow their small businesses with a custom designed sign.

Our COO, Nelson James says, “Giving back is one of the core values of our company. We would love to give away thousands of signs through the Gives Back program and, hopefully, those signs will play a big role in helping business owners succeed and improve their lives.”
