What Are Teardrop Flags?
Teardrop flags, commonly referred to as teardrop flag banners or teardrop feather flags, are large teardrop-shaped flags with any custom design printed on them using a dye sublimation process. They are attached to a lightweight aluminum and fiberglass flagpole and are either stuck into the ground or placed on some type of flag stand. This flagpole is bendable, keeping the teardrop flag taut with and without wind.

Teardrop Flag Options
Double Sided
Double sided flags are the most visible and effective form of teardrop flags, giving you the ability to print your design on both sides. Each side can be the same or different, depending on your needs.
The double sided flags come with a lining in the middle that prevents each side from showing through to the other.
We recommend double sided for all your teardrop flags, as it provides the most vibrant and noticeable graphics from any direction.
Single Sided
Single sided teardrop flags are printed on one side only. As a result, the design is “print through”, which means that your design will be slightly visible from the back side.
Single sided are not as effective as double sided but are more cost sensitive.
Outdoors
Teardrop flags are great outdoor signs because of their durability, weather resistance, and size. They are sure to catch the eye of people walking and driving by.
We offer a variety of different types of bases that are perfect for any outdoor use. For example, you can stick your teardrop flag directly into the ground with the ground stake or place it on the ground with a square or cross base.
Indoors
Teardrop flags are also great for indoor use, especially for events, expos, and conferences.
We recommend using either a square base or cross base when using indoors.
Base Types
Square
A heavy metal base with a flat, square shaped bottom great for indoor use and outdoor settings of high foot traffic and moderately windy conditions.
Ground Stake
This 25" long metal spike is great for installing flags outdoors in solid soil and typically provides the greatest stability for outdoor use.
Cross Base
This base has four legs and a foldable design making it a great option for indoor use and flags that may require travel. If used indoors with higher amounts of foot traffic, be careful to place it so that it does not create a tripping hazard.
Cross Base with Water Bag
To more securely anchor your flag, use a refillable water bag to put over the top of your cross base. This heavy plastic ring full of water adds 16 pounds of weight to secure your flag!

Assembling Your Teardrop Flag
Assemble your teardrop flag by putting all the poles together in the proper order. Unfold the flag and slide the pole through the pole insert of the flag until the flag is fully extended on the flag. Finally, erect the flag by inserting the base of the pole into one of the four stand options offered.

At Signs.com we offer a variety of banners for your display needs. From custom vinyl banners to fabric banners, or even retractable banners, we’ve got you covered. We also offer a feather flag banner, which is similar in design and use to the teardrop banner.
We highly recommend using the purchased pole set because it is specifically designed to display the teardrop banner. Attempting to use it with any other type of pole will most likely prove to be unsuccessful. Our standard banners are a more versatile option if you’re looking to attach a sign to a variety of surfaces or in a variety of ways (rope, string, bungee, zip ties, etc.).
Installing the teardrop banner is straightforward. When assembling the flagpole, take the two smallest poles and connect them. One will have a small knob, this will be the top of the assembled pole. Next, take the next two larger poles and connect them together and combine those two with the two smaller poles you previously joined. With those four poles assembled, take the remaining largest pole and attach it to the combined pole. Now you’re ready to place the banner onto the pole by sliding the pole through the bottom pocket of the banner. Make sure you take your time sliding the pole through the pocket to avoid possible stretching or tearing of the material or unwanted bending of the pole.
Once the banner material is attached to the pole it’s time to insert it into either the ground stake or one of the other available base options. After inserting the pole into the stake or base, take the small cord from the flagpole and thread it through the small loop at the bottom of the banner material. Now that the cord is through the loop, insert the cord into the metal ring of the base. Tie a knot, securing your banner and pole to the base. Now you’re ready to place your assembled teardrop banner either in or on the ground.
