Product Specs
What are custom flags? How do they differ from feather, teardrop, rectangle, and angled flag banners?
Made from a durable weather and fade resistant 4 oz. polyester material and printed using a permanent dye sublimation process, custom or standard flags are specifically designed for indoor and outdoor display needs with the added benefit of having a reinforced grommet strip to secure the flag to virtually any object. This versatility allows the flag to be displayed in a variety of circumstances, including on flagpoles (optional), hung in windows, and displayed on fences or walls using rope, zip-ties, wall-mounted hooks, nails, etc. Custom flags are rectangular in shape and do not offer curved or intricately designed patterns. In most cases, custom flags are for residential and smaller display purposes including commercial and church settings.Feather, teardrop, rectangle, and angled flag banners are specialty advertising or business flags that are designed to a specific shape using a pole pocket on the flag and a flexible pole. These advertising flags do not have grommets. All advertising flags are intended for outdoor display either in or on the ground using a stake or base, and typically range from 9 ft. to 18 ft. in height. Their primary use is for business and event promotion.

Questions and Answers
We use a dye sublimation process, which dyes the fabric and makes it fade resistant with proper care and storage; however, if it's constantly exposed, it may last more or less than 2 years.
Bleed allowance is necessary to avoid white hairlines once we trim the product. We only need your file to extend 1/8" on each side.
You have the option to save the logo in the application where it was created. We recommend downloading it as a PDF.
We use color white as the color for all the materials we are using to print your products on, that way, we can follow the colors of your design as close as possible provided that the artwork is in the CMYK color space. Should you want a colored background, kind add it on your artwork so we can follow it. You may use our online design tool in setting up your design.
On the specifications page, you can select the printed sides you prefer. You can choose either front only or front and back.

Here’s a summary of the key points for using a 3' x 5' flag on a boat:
-
Flag for Boat Use:
- Material: Choose marine-grade polyester or nylon for durability against UV rays and water.
- Printing Quality: Ensure ink and material are weather-resistant.
-
File Quality from Canva:
- Resolution: Set to at least 150-300 DPI for sharpness.
- Export Format: Use high-quality formats like PDF.
-
Double-Sided Printing:
- Bleed Through: Design to account for potential light passing through.
- Blockout Material: Use a blockout liner to prevent bleed-through and ensure a clean look on both sides.
-
Polyester Flags:
- Standard Polyester: May allow some light through.
- Blackout Flags: Made with a blockout liner to prevent transparency and ensure opacity on both sides. Confirm with your printer and request a sample to verify quality.
By following these guidelines, you can achieve a high-quality, durable flag suitable for boat use, with effective double-sided printing.
We currently print our products in 3 different facilities. Different facilities have different capabilities. At the moment, we only have Van Nuys, CA; Salt Lake City, UT; and Wixom, MI.
While there isn't a strict "ideal" number of colors, simpler designs with fewer colors are often more visually striking and easier to reproduce. The quality of a printed flag depends on the printing method: digital printing is good for complex, multicolor designs with gradients, while screen printing suits simpler, solid color designs. Colors on screen may differ when printed, so it's important to check with the printer for color matching and proofs. The fabric type also affects color appearance and durability, with polyester being a common choice for its durability and color retention.
It would depend. We may need to check the image to verify. Kindly fill out the link below and attach the image for our reference:
.125 of bleed is needed when submitting your file. The preferred file format would be in PDF format.
