About 100 years later, July 4<sup>th<\/sup>\nwas made an official holiday across the USA, and we\u2019ve been acknowledging our national\nindependence in grand fashion ever since. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Will you close your business on July 4<sup>th<\/sup> and join in the celebrations yourself? Also consider placing a sign in a frame or easel at the checkout line.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Vestibule\/foyer &#8212; Place a July 4<sup>th<\/sup> sign here next to your sale\/special of the day message, or alongside pictures of satisfied customers, local sports team sponsorships, etc. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Storefront window \u2013 Set a sign in a mannequin\u2019s hand or at its base, or hang around its neck; place on a frame and make it part of your Independence Day window display.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Interior walls \u2013 Any well-trafficked interior walls, including dressing-room walls, are good potential locations for July 4th signage.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Racks\/displays \u2013 Place signs in frames atop or adjacent to a few racks or displays, particularly your sale or promotional items.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.signs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Free-Closed-for-July-4th-Template-3-13095.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21353\" width=\"200\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Red,\nWhite, and Blue<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Time will\ntell if this year\u2019s Independence Day celebrations will be a bit more subdued\ndue to COVID-19 \u2013 or, perhaps, the festivities will be even more raucous than\nin previous years, as folks choose to \u201cget their summer on\u201d after months of\nhunkering down and avoiding other people. You\u2019ll have to decide if you, your\nbusiness, your customers, and your employees will best benefit from your shop\nbeing open or closed on July 4<sup>th<\/sup>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you choose to remain open, you might want to draw customers in by having a special Independence Day sale. You could put an emphasis on goods that might sell particularly well for a 4<sup>th<\/sup> of July celebration \u2013 red, white, and blue anyone? Or, take a more generalist approach and think get-together\/party, or consider a broad summer theme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, keep in mind that just because you opt to open on July 4<sup>th<\/sup> doesn\u2019t mean you have to keep standard hours that day. You can always set and announce limited hours ahead of time. Or, depending upon your type of business and customer mix, possibly close early if you find your foot traffic to be non-existent that day.
